About your instructor:
Hi there! I’m Alison Ryan, M.Ed, a literacy specialist and former classroom teacher. In 2006, I began a job where I was helping children who were having a hard time learning to read. Seeing the children (and their families) struggle really struck a chord with me. Reading is a foundational skill that opens so many doors, and I decided I wanted to dedicate my career to ensuring all children have the reading skills they need to thrive.
Since then, I’ve worked as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, and Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Today, I work full-time helping teachers and parents support children with literacy. I also work with a few children doing reading intervention, and it lights me up just as much as it did back in 2006!
I developed Rising Readers to take my experience helping parents “online” - so I could serve even more families than I currently do. I can’t wait to get to know you and support you!
